My mum came to Southampton for 3 days to join me exploring this new city. I really was happy with some company, as it appears hard to make friend these first few weeks. Mum arrived on Tuesday. Her travel day was the worst, with the morning flight being cancelled and having to wait more than 8 hours for the next flight. Waiting in long queues to fix everything. It resulted in missing our first day together here, but luckily I still got to pick her up late in the evening. It was cozy and lively right away ❤
On Wednesday we had coffee at Mettricks in the morning and we did some shopping. We ate in and went to the movies! Victoria&Abdul. It’s about an extraordinary friendship between Queen Victoria and a helper from India, whom she later titles her Mushi (teacher). We loved it.
Thursday we slept in. Mettricks served us coffee and tea again and we decided to stick a little longer to read our books. Shared hobbies.
Next, in the SeaCity museum we learned about the Titanic story and the (mostly Southampton based) crew that lost their lives at sea. We especially liked the courtroom, the game-play of steering the Titanic out of the Southampton channel and the scale model of the boat. It was way more interesting than I expected it to be.
On Friday it was leaving day already! We still had the morning though. So we spend it to visit my faculty at the docks in the south of Southampton.
Bye mama x
Looking forward to my next visitor !
